A swimmer was transported to a local hospital in critical condition following a boating accident at Squantz Pond on Candlewood Lake, according to state officials.
Chris Collibee, with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, said the female swimmer was injured during a boating accident around 3 p.m. Tuesday in New Fairfield.
"We (DEEP) are still investigating the sequence of events that led to the swimmer's injuries," Collibee said.
